Earlsfield Together is connected with and supporting a number of local initiatives and organisations. Our street communities are supporting a number of them, but others also need the support of individual members of the community.

Earlsfield Foodbank

Earlsfield Foodbank has temporarily relocated to St Andrews Church on Garratt Lane. It is open on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to midday, and can also organise deliveries.

The foodbank also accepts individual donations every Wednesday between 4 - 6pm  and every Thursday between 9am - 12pm, at the Foodbank bins at Sainsbury’s Local in Earlsfield and the Garratt Lane Co-Op, and through online donations at Bankuet. Earlsfield Street Communities are currently collecting food for the foodbank, with each area of Earlsfield organising a collection every 5th week - fill in this form to get connected to your street.

If you have any questions, would like to volunteer, or know fruit and vegetable suppliers who might be willing to donate food or to volunteer, contact Sus at the Foodbank or call 07736330057

If you need support from the foodbank and would like to collect some food or arrange a delivery, email Charlotte at the Foodbank or call on 07585064428

Loxley Scrubs

This is a team of 30 local volunteers all sewing scrubs, surgical gowns, face masks, hari coverings and scrub bags, which they are supplying for free to St Georges and Kings.

They are currently at capacity for volunteer, unless you are a dressmaker or equivalent standard of sewer.  However donations towards materials are much appreciated. Contact Earlsfield Together to be connected.

Helpful Engineering UK (PPE)

Helpful Engineering UK was set up by a member of the Earlsfield Together Network in response COVID-19.  They have put together a network of schools and businesses with access to both laser cutters and 3D printers to provide vital & free PPE to over 20 hospitals and other front line workers. They provide models, help with supplies and technical advice, and lead on the assembly, packaging and delivery of PPE to frontline workers. By mid-April they had produced and distributed 5,200 reusable visors in just 17 days from a standing start!

They need: more producers (those with laser cutters and 3D printers) and continuing supplies of clear A4 acetate sheet. Contact Helpful Engineering if you’re able to support this.

They have also set up a larger scale sewing team of 250 volunteers producing scrubs, gowns, masks, etc for London hospitals.  Please head to their website if you want to volunteer.

Critical NHS

Critical NHS has been set up by husband and wife team Niall & Janneke, members of the Tooting Safer Neighbourhoods team. Their principle concern is supporting the critical care teams  across London hospitals and beyonds, supplying meals to frontline staff, as well as PPE and tablet devices to enable family members to say goodbye to each other. Their food team has a well established protocol and supply chain which can competently deliver over 10,000 portions per day as the need arises.

Critical NHS is a registered CIC and have raised just under £190,000. They have a number of strategic partnerships including the local Battersea Ironsides and Old Wimbledonians.

As well as maintaining their meal supplies, they are now directing their efforts to getting a comprehensive understanding of the PPE situation and in particular the issue surrounding surgical gowns.  To connect with them or support their work, please visit their website.
