When Adults are Ill

This is an answer to a question that was asked by one of the Street Communities:

If all the adults in a household get very sick or are hospitalised, and there are children to care for, who do we contact?

  • Contact 111, as this is first a health and infectious disease issue. They will advise what the adults need to do, and how to reduce the risk of viral transmission to children.

  • If the adults have no one to help care for the children, contact the Wandsworth Council’s Hub helpline at 0208 871 6555 or email communications@wandcareall.org.uk.

  • If the adults are unable to call or organise support, the NHS frontline staff have procedures in place to contact social services.
